Grosvenor Contracts wins EcoVate 'Green Business in the Service Sector' Award

14 June 2010

Grosvenor Contracts are proud to announce that we have been awarded the 'Green Business in the Service Sector' award as part of the EcoVate programme. The EcoVate Green Business Innovators 2010 celebrates excellence in Environmental Innovation across various Business Sectors in London, part-financed by the European Union and managed by the Centre for Environment & Safety Management for Business (CESMB) at Middlesex University.

EcoVate Green Business Innovators 2010 are the first in a series of awards developed specifically to recognise outstanding environmental performance by organisations that have received support to reduce their environmental impact. The awards are complementary to but independent of the 'EcoVate Green Business Certificate', which acknowledges the efforts and dedication of organisations supported by the EcoVate project to reduce the environmental impact of their business.

Mark Godley, Director at Grosvenor Contracts said "We are extremely proud of this new award and we reiterate how important it is that the standards set by CESMB are upheld and recognised within industry. Grosvenor, as with many SME's today, work hard to innovate. Many of the changes we make are not only sustainable and 'Green' but are enabling us to provide choice to a market place which is usually monopolised by the larger suppliers."

Grosvenor's OTEX Ozone based cleaning and disinfection service is just one example of the investment in Cleantech solutions that Grosvenor Contracts have made in recent years, allowing washing to be performed at low temperatures with disinfection rates equal to or better than high temperature washing, saving huge amounts of energy over water heated solutions.

Ashford and St. Peter's Hospital install disposables across all wards - MRSA and C-Diff at record lows

19 April 2010

The latest Chairman's Report from Ashford and St. Peter's Hospital Trust provided a glowing report of the disposable cubicle curtains supplied and installed by Grosvenor Contracts. As part of a continuing effort to provide quality care to patients, the hospital went ahead with an installation of disposable curtains across every ward. The results of this are clear: MRSA and C-Diff infections are now at a record low, proof positive that disposable cubicle curtains can make a truly significant difference to infection rates in hospitals and other health institutes.

Grosvenor Contracts supply disposable cubicle curtains nationally to the NHS through the NHS Supply Chain service, which can be ordered with hooks to fit all current railing systems. Other health institutes can order direct.

Grosvenor Contracts Awarded OTEX NHS Contract Extension

11 January 2010

Grosvenor Contracts are very pleased to announce that we have been awarded an extension to our NHS Service Contract for the provision of our OTEX cleaning solution for curtains and blinds. The OTEX system utilises a specialist process whereby oxygen is converted to Ozone and mixed with water to create a cleaning solution. This works microscopically to eradicate bacteria (including Clostridium difficile and other superbugs) as well as removing allergens and pollutants. Further, the process takes place at cold temperatures so huge energy savings can be realised, making this an efficient and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional cleaning.

Grosvenor Contracts will now be providing our OTEX cleaning service under the NHS Service Contract scheme until at least the end of 2011.

More information on our OTEX cleaning service can be found at our OTEX minisite: www.otexlaundry.com

More information on the other services we provide under the NHS Service Contract scheme can be found here.

To discuss this or any other of the services Grosvenor Contracts offer, please e-mail us or call on 0207 237 009.

Press Release - Grosvenor November Update

30 November 2009

Grosvenor are pleased to announce their recent award by Sherwood NHS trust for the supply of recyclable disposable cubicle curtains. As added value, Grosvenor have included their tailor made fitting/recycling service (non-contaminated waste only). Grosvenor are able to provide FREE recycling to the trust as there is a growing demand for used polypropylene. The money we receive for the waste covers the collection cost! It is our company policy to continue passing these savings on to the NHS via NHS supply chain using NPC codes MVN053 and MVN069.

Grosvenor disposable cubicle curtains are helping many trusts meet DH cleanliness standards and attain high PEAT scores. In response to this NHS supply chain have recently added Grosvenor's Type 2 disposable curtain to the catalogue. The product code is
MVN069 and the curtains are £18.80 each plus VAT. Grosvenor's type 2 hook is U shaped and fits to adapted curtain tracks.

Grosvenor Linen services has now successfully completed trials and this month sees the delivery of new laundry equipment from JLA. The new investment includes OTEX low temperature/energy disinfection. With an emphasis on an improved/certified system for Healthcare laundries we believe OTEX to be the way forward. In addition to new standards provided by OTEX there are large energy savings to be made as disinfection is achieved at lower temperatures. This fact combined with a more regional service (reduced supplier carbon footprint) for hospitals will create new skilled employment for local people eliminating the current problems faced when using bulk laundries.

Grosvenor Contracts - working to achieve a Green Hospital with Ashford and St Peters NHS Trust

28 June 2009

Grosvenor Contracts - working with Ashford and St Peters NHS Trust to achieve a Chemical Free - Green Hospital Environment that meets Department of Health cleanliness standards

With cleanliness standards being set higher and cleaning frequencies being increased, Emma Brookes and her specialist decontamination team at Ashford & St Peters NHS Trust have been looking at ways to reduce the amount of cleaning chemicals being used within the Trust and still reach/exceed the standards set out in the recently published Department of Health Cleaning Manual.

Having recently instructed Grosvenor Contracts in the removal of all old textile cubicle curtains and their replacement with a 100% recyclable Grosvenor Disposable Cubicle Curtain, which has helped with cleanliness and eliminated the risks of cross contamination within the cubicle curtain laundering process, Emma instructed a trial utilising Grosvenor's off site Ultrasonic Blind Cleaning service, which is the only cleaning service in the UK to be approved by the British Allergy Foundation for the safe removal of harmful pollutants and bacteria with no chemical/harmful effect to the hospital environment.

The beauty in Grosvenor's service is that all blinds are taken to their state of the art factory. The cleaning process utilizes an ultrasonic decontamination process that reduces the requirement for chemical cleaning. The blinds are put in custom built water tanks and high frequency sound waves are played through the aqueous solution. The waves create tiny bubbles that penetrate small crevices and on impact with the blinds, explode at extreme temperatures, thus removing soiling before disinfection and rinsing.

By using specialist off site cleaning methods Grosvenor are aiding in providing a healthy environment for the Trusts clients, achieving high cleanliness standards and eradicating issues related to microbial spore release which are associated with on-site cleaning methods.

Amazingly, Grosvenor's service does not stop here. In addition to the scheduled cleaning and disinfection they even repair the blinds within the fixed contract price - increasing the life span of the product and have created eight new local jobs this year!

Due to the success of the trial, and a contract award by NHS SC, Ashford & St Peters NHS Trust have now awarded Grosvenor Contracts a three year contract for their 'essential Infection Control Services' that meet the Deep Clean requirements of the NHS.
