Trust which runs Barrow hospital beats infection-free record

an image of a tick showing great resultsHOSPITAL bosses have this year seen their sites declared free from a common infection for the longest period in their organisation’s history.

The trust which runs Furness General Hospital recently went 49 days without a case of Clostridium Difficile (C diff), the most time it has ever been without the illness since it was formed 18 years ago. The University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust has described the record as an impressive result.
